TSC Terms and Conditions
Eligibility and participation
The Tourism Sustainability Commitment (TSC) is a programme owned by Tourism Industry Aotearoa (TIA). It supports tourism businesses to make progress across the 12 TSC Commitments and contribute to a more sustainable tourism industry.
The TSC is open to New Zealand tourism businesses and organisations. Applications are considered in line with these Terms and Conditions and the purpose and credibility of the programme. TIA encourages wide participation across the industry.
TIA members receive TSC signatory status as part of their membership and contribute to the TSC through their membership. Organisations that are not TIA members may apply to become non-member signatories and, once accepted, are required to make an annual TSC contribution of $100 + GST. The annual TSC contribution of $100 + GST is final and non-refundable.
Annual participation requirements
Annual participation requirements differ for TIA members and non-member signatories.
1. Recommit to the TSC and confirm their organisation’s details.
2. Pay the annual TSC contribution of $100 + GST.
3. Complete the annual TSC Declaration once recommitment and payment have been confirmed.
TIA members contribute to the TSC through their membership and do not complete the separate recommitment and payment process. They reconfirm their commitment by completing the annual TSC Declaration.
Dated TSC logo
The dated TSC logo shows a current commitment to the programme for the year shown. It is not certification, accreditation or verification of sustainability performance.
Use of the dated TSC logo is limited to active signatories and is subject to these Terms and Conditions. The logo may only be used for the year shown, must be replaced when a new annual logo is issued and must be removed if the organisation moves to inactive status. Previous TSC certificates and expired logos must not be used to represent current TSC status.
Suspension or removal
TIA may suspend or remove a signatory’s participation in the TSC where a signatory does not meet the requirements for ongoing participation, or where TIA considers their participation is inconsistent with the purpose and credibility of the programme. This may include removing access to TSC materials, including use of the TSC logo
