2025 TSC Annual Declaration - Summary of Results

This year we were delighted to receive a record number of responses to the annual Tourism Sustainability Commitment (TSC) declaration, and the results show that sustainability is as important as ever.
Some of the key findings were:
- Most businesses (80%) engage with their community and 83% prioritise sourcing local products and services
- 92% regularly consider the impact of their actions on the environment and 68% are supporting predator-reduction programme
- For 39% sustainability is already a top priority but others say they will prioritise sustainability to meet customer expectations and improve profitability
- An increasing number of businesses are measuring their carbon emissions (47% up from 29% in 2022) but fewer are getting certification (5% down from 13% in 2022)
- There continues to be a big discrepancy between aspirations and actions with 98% say that sustainability is important to their business, but just 22% having a sustainability budget
- 73% said their business had been impacted by changing weather patterns and this is one of the leading concerns about their future.
