Kaibosh Food Rescue

Kaibosh collects quality surplus food from businesses and provides it to community groups supporting those in need in Wellington and the Hutt Valley. Since 2008 they have rescued more than 1 million kgs of food, provided more than 3 million meals and reduced carbon emissions by more than 800,000 kgs. Businesses and individuals can also donate money to Kaibosh, and volunteer time to help rescue food. 

KiwiHarvest

KiwiHarvest collects quality surplus fresh food from markets, supermarkets, wholesalers, farmers, and prepared meals from cafes, corporate events and caterers then deliver it to those who need it most. 100% of the food rescued is delivered, free of charge, to New Zealand’s charities and shared with people in need. Since 2012, around 2 million kg of food has been saved, more than 6 million meals delivered and carbon emissions reduced by more than 7 million. There are opportunities to volunteer time, and donate products, services and expertise.

On-job training programmes can be free of charge if you upskill one of your team to be your workplace assessor.

The New Zealand Diversity Action Programme

The New Zealand Diversity Action programme is a Human Rights Commission initiative. Register for programmes and projects that contributes to a diverse, equal, harmonious and Treaty-based Aotearoa New Zealand.

Registered projects include:

  • Taking part in events like Waitangi Day, Chinese New Year, Race Relations Day, Samoan Language Week, Matariki, World Refugee Day, Māori Language Week, Diwali
  • Promoting diversity in the workplace and catering for the diverse needs of clients and customers
  • Developing policies, programmes and strategies for diversity, equality, harmony and giving effect to the Treaty
  • Community consultation and participation
