Plastic pollution is a major problem globally and in Aotearoa. Drinks in single-use plastic are a major source of plastic pollution. Given the lack of recycling options most of these bottles get thrown away, contributing to the approximately 828 million single-use plastic bottles thrown away in New Zealand per year, the equivalent of 165 Olympic swimming pools.
Many cafes, hotels, tourism venues and bars provide tap water but people often feel uncomfortable popping in to refill their water bottles.
RefillNZ has come up with a solution, providing stickers and posters for businesses to use in their windows letting people know they can pop in and refill for free.
All businesses that sign up will be pinned on the RefillNZ location-based map and promoted through social media, increasing exposure for businesses.
If you’re interested in joining over 500 other businesses in the fight to refill, get in touch with us by signing up now.
